GBPIET Explores Internship and Career Opportunities with Uttarakhand Sports Foundation

Govind Ballabh Pant Institute of Engineering and Technology (GBPIET), Pauri Garhwal, is working to create better internship, industry training, skill development, and employment opportunities for all its students.

As part of this initiative, GBPIET held a meeting with the Trustee, office bearers, and members of the Uttarakhand Sports Foundation to explore opportunities for internships, industry exposure, professional training, mentorship, and future placement support for GBPIET students.

The Uttarakhand Sports Foundation was established by a group of Uttarakhandi entrepreneurs and professionals who wanted to contribute to the development of the state’s youth. Today, the foundation includes more than 120 Uttarakhandi entrepreneurs and individuals serving in leadership positions in reputed corporate organizations.

Connecting GBPIET Students with Industry

During the meeting, GBPIET management and representatives of the Uttarakhand Sports Foundation discussed several areas of possible collaboration, including:

  • Internship opportunities for GBPIET students
  • Industry training and practical learning programmes
  • Skill development workshops
  • Industry mentorship and career guidance
  • Support for placement and recruitment drives
  • Professional interaction with entrepreneurs and corporate leaders
  • Opportunities to work with startups and growing organizations
  • Stronger connections between education and employment

The proposed collaboration will help students gain practical experience, understand workplace expectations, and prepare more effectively for their professional careers.

Supporting Student Career Development

Academic qualifications are important, but students also need practical exposure, professional guidance, and industry interaction to succeed in today’s competitive environment.

Internships can help students apply classroom knowledge to real-world projects. Industry training can improve their technical and professional capabilities, while mentorship can guide them in areas such as career planning, interview preparation, communication, entrepreneurship, and higher education.

GBPIET aims to provide its students with wider exposure by building meaningful relationships with entrepreneurs, companies, startups, and corporate professionals.

The Uttarakhand Sports Foundation works to support the youth of Uttarakhand through sports, education, networking, and community development initiatives.
