Dr. Suresh Chandra Phulara Awarded Prestigious International CDRI Fellowship 2025–26
We are proud to share that Dr. Suresh Chandra Phulara, Assistant Professor, Department of Biotechnology, Govind Ballabh Pant Institute of Engineering and Technology (GBPIET), Pauri Garhwal, has been awarded the prestigious CDRI (Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure) Fellowship 2025–26, with a grant of USD 15,000.
His project, focused on developing bio-based thermal-resistant building materials from pine needles to mitigate wildfire risks and support climate-resilient infrastructure, was selected through a highly competitive global process. Out of 900+ international applications, only 20 researchers worldwide were selected for this esteemed fellowship.
This achievement highlights GBPIET’s growing contribution to global sustainability challenges and disaster risk reduction. The institute congratulates Dr. Phulara and wishes him continued success in his future endeavors.
